Shepherd Pie

After seeing Aunty Irene bake this Shepherd pie during Christmas,so call her and ask for the recipe.Yesterday bake this Shepherd Pie for my youngest to try, after eating ,the first words came from his mouth is "Yummy, Mummy this is really great.

So this morning bake for my colleagues and friends, they love it very much.Thanks Aunty Irene for this great recipe.

Since today is the last day for 2009, I would like to wish all the Kaypo Club Member and all my friends a very "Happy & Prosperous New Year."

冬至

Today is 冬至, so yesterday make my own 汤圆 .

Chinese fesitval dishes usually have auspicious and meaningful names and the tang yuan 汤圆 is no different.The entire phrase tang yuan 汤圆 symbolises "tuan yuan" (family reunion / 团圆 ), and eating tang yuan on Dong Zhi 冬至 represents family reunion and harmony, and also signifies family unity and family prosperity.

Here I would like to wish everybody a very Prosperous 冬至 and good health throughout the Years.

Macarons

Have been trying baking these Macarons many times, but many times not successful and have been doing a lot of reading about these little creature and how to bake a beautiful Macarons.Finally I learnt the tactics of these little creature and manage to have these little creature with the "Feet" on it.So happy that I nearly broke down with tears.

菠蘿泡芙 & Kueh Lapis


Since my son school holiday until now have not been really baking anything cos not feeling well.Last week my youngest son request me to bake Kueh Lapis and Cream puff for him, in order not to disappoint him I promise him to bake 菠蘿泡芙 and Kueh Lapis on Sunday.So yesterday try this 菠蘿泡芙 the texture really very nice cos the top is acutally topped with 菠蘿 and the whole 菠蘿泡芙 taste really great especially with Pure Durian filling.

Vegetable And Prawn Fritters



Few years back while my two boys still very young,I work as a part time at Jurong Point Shopping centre selling HongKong tim sum, I love eating the Vegetable and Prawn Fritters which the stall owner fry, but after 1 year working with him and due to need to look after my boys I stop working.
A year later, the owner wanted to open a childcare centre and decided not to continue the contract with the shopping centre.Since than I cannot get a nice fritter and really miss the taste of these fritter until I saw this recipe and decided to try hopefully I can get the similar smell and taste.These fritter smell and taste quite similar but I still find something is missing, anyway I am glad that at least it is much better than outside selling.

菠萝包 2 & Christmas Stollen



Last week try baking the 菠萝包 ,but Aunty Irene explain that the bun should be high up and the 菠萝皮 should only cover the top so last weekend try baking it again.
I also try baking Christmas Stollen, this bread really taste as great as the 菠萝包.My son enjoy eating both.Thanks Aunty Irene for the recipes.

菠萝包

Yesterday night after work, I try baking these HongKong 菠萝包 that Aunty Irene keep praising that these buns really taste very great.

So after 2 hours of hardwork,finally these HongKong 菠萝包 ready to be eaten , as instruct by Aunty Irene that it taste even great if 1 or 2 slices of SCS butter to be sandwich while it is still hot.

As usual my youngest son will be the one that taste it first,suddenly he shouted
" Mummy , Oh No these Hongkong菠萝包really "SEE BAY HO CHIA and it is also the best bun I ever had" after hearing what he say, I ask my hubby to try, but he claim that he is still very full, so I pester him to just have a bite and to my surprise he asks for another slice of SCS butter to be sandwich and took the whole piece.

I am really very happy and enjoy watching them eating. Thanks Aunty Irene for the great recipe and all the teaches through out all these years.

Today is my friend's Birthday, but because she is on leave today so we celebrated her birthday yesterday.This Passion Fruit Mascarpone Cake specially for her.I change the Cream Cheese to Mascarpone because she don't like Cheese.The whole cake taste great with Mascarpone.We enjoy eating the cake very much.

Honey Char Siew

Never try making Char Siew before, so last week try out this Honey Char Siew which Aunty Irene taught 2 yrs ago at 我的厨房笔记. My youngest son love it very much and the comment that he give me is "Mum this is the best food I had for this whole week".I am really very happy after hearing it and I also enjoy seeing him eating the whole Honey Char Siew.Thanks Aunty Irene for this wonderful recipe.

Chocolate Stout Cake

Last Sunday we had a very wonderful gathering at Aunty Irene's house to celebrate
L-5 Birthday since I never try baking cake with Stout, so decided to bake this Chocolate Stout Cake for the gathering,to my surprise this cake really taste great, it is really very moist and smelt great.I believe Joanne and Margaret enjoy this cake.So for those that can't turn-up last Sunday, sorry you all missed it.

Madeleines

I wanted to bake these Madeleines quite some time ago,just becos don't have the mould so keep pending until one day my hubby came back with a big bag full of different kind of mould and baking tin.He told me that actually from his Engineer's mom that don't bake anymore, since he knew that I am baking so gave them to me.I was delighted when saw the madeleines mould and immediately try out the recipe.I just fall in love with it as the texture really soft in the inside and crispy on the outside.

Cream Puff

It been quite sometime since my last cream puff, yesterday just feel like having it so decided to bake it.The filling that I use is mixed berries yogurt with whipping cream.I am quite happy with the filling as it goes very well.I will be baking it again for my colleagues to try.

Lemon Chocolate Indulgence

Today is my hubby's birthday, so yesterday night bake a birthday cake for him as he suggest to have a BBQ at the Lakeside Fishing Pond to celebrate his birthday together with some of his friends and workers.My youngest son help me to decorate the cake after his class at about 9pm.I knew that he is very tired but still insist to help me finish all the decoration. After seeing so many of the Kaypo Club member steam this 蒸肉蛋糕 can't wait to try it, so Tuesday give Aunty Irene a call for the recipe and try making it.The process is not too time consuming and the texture of the cake really very soft. Trip to Pulau Sibu Kelong











Last week ,hubby decided to bring our two boy to Malaysia Pulau Sibu Kelong for a short trip since the school holiday already started.This trip my youngest son Ric really enjoy his fishing trip very much and as for me not really becos having a very bad cough,but I do enjoy the sea breeze ,the Sunrise and Sunset.
